Pearls Before Swine

The old barn door
from the Greywater studio shed.

My chairmaking overalls
and firewood gloves.

The shovel that Burnell wore down
to a crescent digging around
his mother’s rhubarb plants.

Hay which Gulliver pulled
from the horse jumps
on one of our winter walks
in Spring Valley.

The tile floor from
the back of my mind
and the top of my
wish list.

The pearls
which Herself
no longer needs to wear
because her beauty
lies within.

And the shadows
filled with a rainbow of light
which I come to find
is always a
mystery.
