Of an island soul to sea.
Past the houses –
past the headlands –
Into deep Eternity.

Torn from the top of the Vineyard Gazette , January 1999,
the paper is the color of a watered down Darjeeling.
Yet for this island soul,
with roots deep in the Pennsylvania farmland,
my exultation is just beyond the sea
in the going to
