Season of Reflection

This painting picked February for its creation.

Welcoming that brilliant October day into a studio
so cold that I had to wrap coats and sweaters around my ankles
… and the dog.

A winter studio which begged for that strong Autumn light.
For the warmth of that shock of sun between the clouds.
Katie’s giggles riding the gusty wind.
Chris trying to discretely check his watch. Again.
Herself wishing as hard as she could for her book
and an hour or two to sit on that porch.
And my own self taking short hand notes with all my senses…

To attempt to capture one season
reflected within another.
